Privacy policy

The StudyWren apps collect no personal data. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your progress stays on your iPhone.

This policy covers StudyWren Aviation, StudyWren Insurance and this website, studywren.com. They are published by MicroEndeavor, LLC ("we"). Questions go to [email protected].

The apps

What stays on your iPhone

Each app saves your study progress in its own storage on your device: your answers, review schedule, forecast history, XP, streak, exam dates and settings. It also keeps a few small preferences, such as which milestones you've celebrated.

We never receive any of it. Each app keeps its own, and the two apps don't share it. Deleting an app deletes its data, and Settings → Reset erases your progress at any time. Like other app data, it is included in your iPhone's backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you use them, under Apple's terms.

What goes over the network

The question banks are built into the apps, so studying works offline. The apps don't send your progress, answers or anything about you to us or anyone else.

  • Purchases. When you buy StudyWren Pro, Apple handles the purchase, billing and refunds through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app checks what you've bought with Apple's StoreKit, on your device.
  • Ratings. The app may ask iOS to show Apple's standard rating prompt. Apple decides whether it appears, and any rating or review you leave goes to Apple.
  • Reports you choose to send. Under a question's explanation, "Report a problem" lets you tell us a question is wrong, outdated, has a typo or is unclear. Before you send, the app shows everything the report contains: the reason, your note if you write one, the question and exam, the app's and iOS's version numbers, the version of the question bank, the order the answers were shown in and the answer you picked. It contains nothing about you or your device: no name, email, account or device identifier. It goes to our server at studywren.com only when you tap Send. Like any request over the internet, it reaches our host, Cloudflare, from your network's IP address; the report doesn't include it, and we don't keep it. If it can't be sent right away, it waits on your iPhone and goes out the next time it can, or you can email it to us instead. We use reports only to check and fix questions, and delete them once they've been dealt with.

Email and links

Links such as "Don't see your state?" and "Email us" open your mail app with a message to [email protected]. Nothing is sent unless you send it. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply and to fix what you reported. Help, support and privacy links open this website in Safari.

What the apps don't do

No account or sign-in. No third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code. No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data. No tracking across apps or websites. On the App Store, each app's privacy label shows that nothing is linked to your identity or used to track you.

This website

  • Hosting. Cloudflare serves studywren.com. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Analytics. The website doesn't use analytics.
  • Cookies. We set none. If you choose a light or dark theme, your browser remembers that choice on your device.
  • Free practice. Your answers to practice questions stay in your browser. Nothing is sent.
  • Report a problem. The form sends us only what you enter: the app, the reason, the question id and your message. It doesn't ask for your name or email, so please don't include personal details. We use reports only to check and fix our questions, and delete them once they've been dealt with.

Children

The apps are made for adults preparing for licensing exams. They collect no personal data from anyone, children included.

Your choices

Because the apps collect no personal data, there's none for us to show, correct or delete. Reports carry no name, so we can't tell whose a report is; if you've sent one and want it deleted, write to [email protected] with the question id and the day you sent it. The same goes for emails you've sent us.

Changes

If what the apps or this site do with data changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
